A market bot is a non-player character, the only NPCs in Dual Universe. A market bots primary function is to regulate the economy of Dual Universe. Just like the real world, the game is subject to dangers of inflation and scarcity; market bots will help to regulate the amount of currency in circulation. Market bots will be used most significantly (in the foreseeable future) to help jump start the economy at the beginning of the game's life.
The main feature is that the amount of money in the game should be proportional to the number of players, as well as the type of activities taking place along with the amount of that respective activity. The hope is that the bots will not have an effect on the economy of the game once it gets started, but rather emulate it so that real player-to-player transactions affect the bots.
